Biennial event will be chaired by Jeana and Buddy Reisinger with premier sponsorship from Wells Fargo Advisors

ST. LOUIS, Oct. 11, 2018—The Saint Louis Art Museum will host its biennial fundraising Gala on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the museum.

Drawing 380 attendees for cocktails, entertainment and a seated dinner by chef Ivy Magruder of Panorama restaurant, the Gala is the museum’s largest fundraising event. The event, held every two years, raised more than $1 million in 2016.

This year’s Gala is co-chaired by Jeana Reisinger, a member of the museum’s Friends Board, and Buddy Reisinger, director at Hill Investment Group and a former museum trustee and Friends Board member. The event will generate unrestricted support for the museum.

Wells Fargo Advisors has provided a $100,000 sponsorship gift and will serve as premier sponsor of the Gala. The company has long supported the museum and it was a leadership donor to the Campaign for the Saint Louis Art Museum.

“I’m extremely proud of the role Wells Fargo Advisors plays each year in supporting the Saint Louis Art Museum,” said David Kowach, president and head of Wells Fargo Advisors. “I love working at a place that recognizes how art can challenge individuals at all ages with different perspectives on the human condition. Our community is stronger by the museum’s continuous effort to reach more students, families and educators.”

The Gala’s theme—Pop Peace Love—takes its inspiration from the upcoming exhibition “Graphic Revolution: American Prints 1960 to Now.” The exhibition will feature more than 200 prints from artists such as Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, Ed Ruscha and Sherri Levine. Drawn from the museum’s deep holdings in postwar American prints and as from the collections of prominent local lenders, the works in the exhibition will influence the style, look and sound of the 2018 Gala.

This year’s Gala will once again feature an After Party with live music and heavy appetizers. Admission is included with each Gala ticket, and the museum will offer stand-alone After Party tickets. All proceeds from the Gala and After Party will support museum programming, which serves more than 125,000 children, students, teachers, families and adults each year.

“We are grateful to Wells Fargo Advisors for their sponsorship of this longstanding St. Louis tradition,” said Brent R. Benjamin, the Barbara B. Taylor Director of the Saint Louis Art Museum. “It is a privilege to recognize their generosity and support for the museum’s programs. We are likewise grateful to Jeana and Buddy Reisinger for their many years of dedication to our institution, and for their outstanding leadership of the gala.
