Media advisory: Upcoming road closures on Fine Arts Drive

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 10, 2018—Fine Arts Drive will be closed and parking will be limited this week as the Saint Louis Art Museum takes down its blockbuster exhibition “Sunken Cities: Egypt’s Lost Worlds” and crews prepare Art Hill for the Great Forest Park Balloon Race.

Tuesday, Sept. 11

Fine Arts Drive will be closed in front of the museum from 6 am to 4 pm. The entrance to the museum’s Main Building will be closed through Wednesday, Sept. 19, but the museum will be accessible at the East Building entrance.

Wednesday, Sept. 12

The Museum will be open regular hours—from 10 am to 5 pm—but the museum’s garage will stay open late for the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra’s Forest Park Concert.

Friday, Sept. 14

A portion of Fine Arts Drive and both Art Hill parking lots will close at 6 am for the Great Forest Park Balloon Race. There may be additional road closures and restrictions on parking elsewhere in Forest Park. The museum will be open from 10 am to 3 pm.

Saturday, Sept. 15

A portion of Fine Arts Drive and both Art Hill parking lots remain closed for the Balloon Race. There may be additional road closures and restrictions on parking elsewhere in Forest Park. The museum will be open from 10 am to 3 pm.

Sunday, Sept. 16

Fine Arts Drive will reopen, but Art Hill parking lots will remain closed as Balloon Race crews dismantle the festival area. The museum and the museum’s parking garage will be open regular hours from 10 am to 5 pm.
